Asepsis Training - General Rules of Asepsis

  1. Sterile fields are considered sterile only on a horizontal plane, not on a vertical plane.

  2. Non-sterile persons should never reach over a sterile area.

  3. Non-sterile persons and objects should remain at least one foot away from all sterile areas.

  4. Non-sterile persons only handle non-sterile items.

  5. Sterile persons should try to remain at least one foot away from all non-sterile areas.

  6. Sterile persons only handle sterile items.
